My Philosophy

Every Dog Has a Story

I believe that every dog’s behavior tells a story—about their past experiences, their current emotional state, and their relationship with the environment around them. My job isn’t to judge or suppress these behaviors, but to understand them and help create better outcomes for both dogs and their families.

The Human Side Matters Too

Successful behavior modification isn’t just about the dog—it’s about supporting and educating the entire family. I work closely with families to ensure everyone understands their dog’s needs and knows how to support their progress

My Approach

Humane Hierarchy

I strictly follow the Humane Hierarchy, a framework that prioritizes the most positive, least intrusive methods first:

  • Health and Nutrition – Ensuring physical wellness supports behavioral wellness
  • Environmental Management – Setting dogs up for success by controlling their environment
  • Positive Reinforcement – Teaching new behaviors through various rewards and motivation
  • Negative Punishment – Removing good things when inappropriate behavior occurs
  • Only when necessary – More intensive interventions, always with minimal stress

Individualized Plans

No two dogs are exactly alike, which is why I create customized behavior modification plans for
each client. These plans consider:

  • Your dog’s unique personality and learning style
  • Family dynamics and lifestyle factors
  • Environmental challenges specific to your home and neighborhood
  • Long-term goals for your dog’s wellbeing and your relationship
